This group workshop is limited to four students to ensure you each gain enough assistance from Amelie in order to create your item of jewellery.
The sand casting method makes use of existing objects to create an impression mould in sand which is then used to pour molten sterling silver into, creating a precious metal replica of the original item.
The workshop begins at 9am and runs until 12pm.
This three hour workshop provides enough time to create a simple pendant or ring. You are welcome to attempt a more elaborate design however this will take you more time (*see below for options).
You are encouraged to bring your favourite shells, buttons, twigs and other small objects with you and we can discuss at the beginning of your workshop which might be most suitable to use in the creation of your jewellery. We also provide a variety of detailed buttons and small objects for you to use in the creation of your sand mould.
***Please Note***
Materials are not included. Sterling Silver is charged at $2 per gram. The average pendant or ring will end up costing you between $15 and $30.
We provide chain options to purchase as well, depending on the style, length and weight these can range anywhere from $8 to $80.
You are welcome to bring your own sterling silver (or gold) to melt down to create your jewellery item.
*If you haven't completed your jewellery item by 12pm you are welcome to return after a lunch break at 1pm and pay per hour for the remaining time required to finish. This will be charged at the same hourly rate as your chosen workshop. Alternatively you can book yourself in for another group workshop on another day, or leave your item for us to finish and post to you (this will incur a labour and postage charge).
